About Project 2019 post-support
Microsoft extended support for Project 2019 ended on 14 October 2025. Your perpetual licence continues to work indefinitely — the software does not stop functioning. What changes is that Microsoft has stopped issuing security and feature updates for Project 2019.
For most individual users and small teams, this is acceptable. For organisations subject to compliance frameworks requiring supported software (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001), Microsoft recommends Project Professional 2021 (perpetual, supported through 2026-10-14) or Project Plan 3/5 (subscription, continuously updated).
Frequently asked questions
Does Project 2019 work on Mac?
No. Microsoft Project has never been released for macOS. For Mac-based project management, consider Microsoft 365 web apps with Planner, or third-party tools like OmniPlan or Merlin Project.
Will my licence stop working after 14 October 2025?
No. Perpetual licences never expire. Microsoft has stopped issuing updates, but the installed software continues to run on supported Windows versions.
What's the difference between OEM, Retail, and Bound?
OEM is tied to the first hardware it activates on. Retail allows re-activation on the same computer (e.g. after reinstalling Windows). Bound is tied to your Microsoft account and can be moved across computers — the most flexible option.
Can I upgrade to Project 2021 or Plan 3/5?
There is no in-place upgrade path. You would need to purchase a new licence. On Bound, you can uninstall Project 2019 and activate Project 2021 using a new key on the same account.
Is this a genuine Microsoft licence?
Yes. Licendi sources all licences through authorised channels. Every key is verifiable through Microsoft activation servers.
How is the licence delivered?
Instantly by email after payment. You receive the product key, download link (32-bit and 64-bit installers), and activation instructions.
