Buying guide
Buy Windows 7: which edition do you need?
Here are the four Windows 7 editions we sell, with prices and who each one suits. This page is for anyone keeping an older machine or a program running that will not work on newer versions of Windows.
- Key and download by email: instantly during office hours, within 24 hours at most outside them.
- PDF invoice with VAT shown.
- 1-month activation guarantee: if the key does not activate on first installation, write to us and we fix it.
- Support by email and chat.
Which Windows 7 edition to choose
- Windows 7 Home Premium: the edition for home use — from €14.87
- Windows 7 Professional: adds business features, domain join and Remote Desktop host — from €14.04
- Windows 7 Enterprise: includes BitLocker and all features — from €41.31
- Windows 7 Ultimate: also with BitLocker and all features — from €12.39
If you need none of that, Home Premium is enough. If the PC has to join a domain or accept Remote Desktop connections, pick Professional or one of the two higher editions.
Windows 7 no longer gets security updates
Support for Windows 7 ended on 14 January 2020, and there have been no security updates since. That is why we only recommend it for legacy machines or software that cannot run on newer Windows, ideally offline.
For a new PC, or one that goes online, we recommend Windows 11. If your hardware cannot run Windows 11, Windows 10 is the alternative. You can browse every version under Windows licences.
Windows 7 questions
Is Windows 7 still safe to use?
Only to a limited extent. It has had no security updates since 14 January 2020, so use it offline or on legacy systems and software only.
Is it a one-time payment?
Yes. It is a permanent licence: you pay once and there is no subscription.
Is it legal to buy a resold Windows 7 licence?
Yes. The CJEU UsedSoft judgment (C-128/11, 3 July 2012) allows the legal resale of permanent licences in the EU, and we provide a PDF invoice.
What if the key does not activate?
Write to us by email or chat. Under the 1-month activation guarantee, if the key does not activate on first installation, we fix it.
