Protection and system requirements
On Windows, malware scanning, folder protection against ransomware and automatic security updates are included. Webcam Protection controls camera access; Fake Website Shield helps prevent DNS redirection to imitation sites. Premium firewall tools include Leak Protection for public networks. AVG also lists warnings about unsecured Wi-Fi. Ransomware protection is also available in AVG Free; it is not an exclusive reason to upgrade.
Windows requirements include 1 GB RAM, 2 GB free storage and internet for download, activation and updates. AVG lists Windows 11 and 10, with edition restrictions. For eligible multi-device installations: macOS 10.13 or later, Android 10 or later, iOS 17 or later. Windows features do not all exist in the mobile apps.
Activation and first steps
- Download from the official AVG link supplied in your email and install the appropriate app.
- On Windows, open Menu, choose Enter activation code and paste the complete key, including hyphens.
- Check the active subscription and expiry date, update protection and run the first scan.
If a reseller code is rejected, AVG documents exchanging it through your AVG account before activation. On iOS, redeem the reseller code to the account first, then sign in; direct code entry is not supported. If activation still fails within the first month, Licendi support helps or replaces the key.
Updates and subscription expiry
The purchased term is 2 years. Check the actual expiry in AVG’s subscription screen; device compatibility can change as the software develops. After expiry, paid features require a new valid subscription. AVG documents an option to switch Windows installations to AVG AntiVirus Free.
Buying questions
Does Internet Security include a VPN?
AVG Secure VPN and AVG TuneUp need separate subscriptions, even when shown inside the app.
Can I move protection to a replacement computer?
AVG permits a single-device subscription to move to another device on the same platform. Remove it from the old computer first and respect the purchased device limit.
Does a longer term add more devices?
No. Years and device count are separate limits. This page provides 1 Windows PC for 2 years.
Can this PC key protect a tablet or Chromebook?
This offer is for Windows only. Do not buy it to activate Android, iPad or ChromeOS protection.
