Windows (from Microsoft), is the most used operating system (OS) for computers (desktops, tablets and consoles) in the world, with about 70% of the market share during the first half of 2021. Its closest competitors Apple's MacOS and iOS only have a combined 20 percent of the market. There is no office that does not have at least one computer with the Windows operating system and, with good reason, it has fallen as the number 1 program on this list.

Nowadays - and especially if you are reading this - we all use some form of technology to make our lives easier or to help us do our work faster and more efficiently. But what are the most useful and popular programmes? Let's get straight to the point with the main coordinated programmes!

No one should tell you that you have to spend a lot of money to get the official version activated. The best tool for graphic design and editing: Adobe Photoshop

This software has been around for three decades now and it started as a photo editing programme that was more of a multi-purpose graphic design tool. There was a time when many people started using it as a user interface design tool, but as time went on, better tools specialised in user interfaces came on the market, around 2013.

The interface design community has evolved, but Photoshop has remained and is still used as the most popular graphic design and editing tool.

Google chrome

There was a time when the world revolved around Internet Explorer, but 11 years ago Google Chrome first stepped into the light and dominated the browser space. In doing so, it stole 1st place from Firefox and Internet Explorer because it is a much simpler, faster and free browser.

For most users, it is still the browser of choice, and with the recent privacy news, the company seems to be trying to show its commitment to privacy. But as always, things could be better .

office package, Excel, Word and PowerPoint are among the most used

This tool needs no introduction... Love it or hate it, it's there and will be for a long time. Even with Google Sheets and its powerful collaborative workflow hot on its heels, Excel resists any attempt to make it obsolete. Most professionals prefer Excel because there is a wealth of Excel training available, and as they roll out their collaboration features in the cloud, it doesn't look like it will become obsolete.

On the other hand, PowerPoint undoubtedly remains the tool of all storytellers of today and the last decades. Imagine how many presentations, financial forecasts and other concepts are presented in PowerPoint every second.

And how can we leave Word aside? A simple, easy-to-use programme that you are guaranteed to have used at least once in your life. While it must also be said it has been the cause of much frustration, we suppose all good things require a little work to learn.

Python programming language

I'm not a programmer, but there's one programming language I keep hearing about: Python it must be, and that's what you voted for.

Python is used by many popular websites, applications and services such as Youtube, Google, Salesforce and many others. Python was recently released in version 3.10.0 and is probably the most widely used programming language in the world.
