Everything you need to know about screenshots in Windows 11

If you have ever worked with Microsoft's software, you will have already realised that screenshots in Windows 11 are an indispensable resource for content creation, material management and to make your life easier in your office work.

Using keyboard shortcuts

To be able to make your screenshot tool in Windows 11, the first key that you will need to know in depth and that we present to you is "Print Screen" or (print screen). With this key what we are really going to do is to capture our entire screen and save it to the clipboard, once done, we can paste the image into any application installed on our device how Paint. 

The second shortcut you can use for your screenshots is "Windows + Shift + S". This will give us access to a menu where we can decide which area we want to select on our screen to take screenshots in Windows 11.

As a third method of capturing your screenshots, press the key combination "Windows + Print Screen". This command will save the screenshot in PNG format. Directly to your system with the following path: "Screenshots" - "Images".

Now that we are more familiar with our allies, the shortcuts, let's move on to learn more about how the above-mentioned keyboard shortcut works. 

When we press "Windows + Shift + S" we will see a small menu appear on our screens in which we will see four options that will allow us to make different cuts on our screen. 

The first box, as we can see from its name, refers to the rectangular crop, which allows us to make a uniform and geometric selection of everything we want to capture on our screens.  

On the other hand, we have the free-form crop, which will allow us to create crops with the use of a specialised brush to create different shapes. 

If our chosen option is Window Crop, Windows will ask us directly on which of all our available windows we want to make the screenshots. 

To finish with the crop menu, we have the option to make a full screen crop. This option, as its name suggests, will give us the possibility of creating a full-screen screenshot, with the same result as with the "Imp Pant" key combination. This screenshot will be saved in our clipboard.
