Windows 10 support status
Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. The operating system continues to function and new license keys activate normally. Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program provides security-only patches through October 13, 2026.
If you plan to use this PC beyond October 2026, check whether your hardware meets Windows 11 Home requirements (TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage) before purchasing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a subscription or a one-time purchase?
One-time purchase. Once you activate Windows 10 Home, the license is perpetual — no recurring fee.
What do I receive after purchase?
A Windows 10 product key, a link to the Microsoft Media Creation Tool (ISO download), a PDF invoice, and a step-by-step activation guide — all delivered by email.
What is the difference between OEM and Retail?
OEM (€14.86) activates once and is permanently bound to the motherboard. Retail (€16.52) is linked to your Microsoft account and can be transferred to a new PC when you upgrade. For most home users who keep their machine for years, OEM is the better-value option.
What are the key differences between Home and Pro?
Pro adds BitLocker drive encryption, Remote Desktop hosting, Hyper-V virtualization, and Group Policy management — features aimed at businesses and power users. Home covers all everyday personal computing needs.
Can I do a clean install?
Yes. Download the Windows 10 ISO or use the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, boot from it, and enter your key during or after setup. No previous Windows installation is required.
Can I change the display language?
Yes. Windows 10 supports 100+ display languages. After activation, go to Settings → Time & Language → Language to add or switch languages.
Is Windows 10 still supported?
Mainstream support ended October 14, 2025. Microsoft’s ESU program provides security-only patches through October 13, 2026. After that date, no further patches are planned. The software continues to function normally.
Can I upgrade to Windows 11 later?
Yes, if your PC meets Windows 11’s requirements: TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, a compatible 64-bit CPU, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB storage. Use Microsoft’s PC Health Check tool to verify before deciding.
