God of War finally in PC version

God of War para PC

Lately, Sony has been increasingly open to putting previously PlayStation-exclusive games on PC, with the recent release of God of War for PC being the most notable to date. God of War has been one of Sony's flagship franchises since the original game was released on the PS2 in 2005. All subsequent titles have been locked to PlayStation hardware. Santa Monica Studio's 2018 God of War is one of the most acclaimed games for the PS4, and is now available to a new audience for the first time.

Surely, you have seen PlayStation fans excited about 2018's PS4 exclusive, God of War, and rightly so. A technical marvel that showcases Santa Monica Studios' undoubted storytelling prowess. Here we give you 5 reasons why God of War should be your next adventure.

Its history

Su historia

God of War is not a typical game in the franchise. While the original trilogy focuses on Kratos' rage as he seeks to punish those responsible for the death of his family, this one shows him at his most vulnerable and mature.

Having put his past behind him, we find Kratos several decades later grieving the loss of his wife and finding a way to connect emotionally with his son Atreus. Throughout the game, we see how Kratos tries to repress his past in order to guide Atreus towards a life without anguish or anger. As they travel across Midgard to fulfil a promise made to Faye, his deceased wife, they encounter dangerous realms that will test our protagonists.

It is a marvel of technique

As mentioned above, God of War is a technical and artistic powerhouse. Thanks to the game's physics-based rendering, you'll see Kratos in stunning detail. From his scars from the past to the wrinkles around his eyes. Clothes and armour look fantastic, with realistic physics. The fluid animations sell its cinematic qualities and mixed with the excellent sound design make it something truly wonderful.

One thing that sets it above most is the cut-off free camera. Throughout the 20 hours of gameplay, you'll notice that the camera doesn't cut out once, except for deaths of course. The transition between gameplay and cutscenes is seamless. You'll travel through several different realms, encounter horrifying creatures and discover untold secrets, all in one shot.

The size of the game

El tamaño del juego god of war

If this is your first time playing, you'd be forgiven for doubting that a game like this could run on a basic PS4, given how epic it is. We're not just talking about open spaces to explore or layered side quests, God of War demands more.

Although it has fewer boss fights than the previous entries, what we have here more than makes up for it. To avoid spoilers, I won't go into details, as this is a game you should experience blindly.

What I will say is that every boss fight looks and plays out like something you'd only see in a movie, further demonstrating the studio's cinematic talent. The combination of fluid animations, impeccable polish and brutal combat is a sight to behold.

It is a typical "single-player" adventure.

If you long for the good old days of pure adventure, you're in luck. You see your destination and set off on your father and son road trip. With no add-ons or microtransactions, you'll have the security of knowing that what you're getting is the complete package.

It is optimised for PC

When it launched in 2018 on the PS4, God of War ran from 30fps to 1080p. Thanks to dedicated PC optimisation, you can expect much better performance on your system. The game will feature NVIDIA DLSS and ultrawide support, as well as full 4K resolution, an unlocked framerate, NVIDIA low-latency mirroring technology, and more advanced options to push your system to the limit.

Greetings,

Your Licendi team.
